A little bit ... MIA ....

The last couple weeks have been a little bit busy ... I know I've been missing for a couple weeks and all will become clear as this post goes on.

First we had the trip down to visit the fiancé's family which lasted a week and a day, then on the way back had an incident with our band new car. A caravan up ahead of us lost a wheel and the metal part ended up in our lane and then under our car. Now to cut a long story short we forgot to get the guys details in all the shock and when we took the car to the garage it had £1200 worth of damage to the underside. The piece hit 3 separate parts under the car and damaged them all :( I called the police but no one had reported an incident so we are fresh out of luck. Thankfully my mum has been really nice and paid for the repairs so it doesn't sky rocket my already high insurance - Im not a new driver but this is only my second insurance policy in my own name so its still mega high.

Anyway with all that happening last week tuesday through thursday was a bit of a right off, we ended up just trying to get the holiday stuff all washed and sorted while not getting too annoyed by the car. One really good thing was that we had our friends to stay friday through to sunday morning then I had a bridal shower sunday lunch time. Both of which were great, unfortunately for fiancé he had to work which annoyed him as he wanted to spend more time with our friends.

As for this week Monday night we were at the gym then next thing we knew it was dinner time then bed time. Tuesday we ended up stuck in mega traffic coming back from J's training session so after that we just chilled for the rest of the night.

This weekend is another busy one as we are attending the our first wedding of the year!! I'm really excited, I hope the weather stays nice for her as every bride deserves the wedding of her dreams. Anyway I will hopefully start working through all the posts I have up my sleeve in the near future.

Outfit of the week .... 1st July

Not too many outfits this week ... didn't really do much but go to work and we were keeping stuff clean for our holiday down south.

Still managed to get three cute outfits in hehe

First up cream Primark slaks, Black New Look loose fit vest and blue print Primark Scarf. Accessorised  with tortoise shell New Look sunglasses and brown brogues!  Also wore my new crimson natural collection lipstick with 2True gloss on the top!

I really like these slaks as they are casual bust still smart the top is pleated and the bow is really cute.
I wore this outfit out to lunch with my friend and because I wasn't too sure how warm it would be in town I threw on my grey tweed blazer cut jacket also from Primark. Oh and my new wind chime earrings. The cut on this jacket it really nice and since it was warm I turned the sleeves up, the lining is white with a black pin stripe to match the black leather effect collar. Overall I think it was a really cute outfit, for work I swapped the jacket for a teal chunky cardigan as our office is really cold.

Next up is a casual summer outfit I wore to work then to the gym afterwards. This my over sized grey Primark vest, a New Look distressed blue bandeau top and my customised Asda vest. The leggings are just cheap Primark ones that I usually just wear for the gym on non running days but I wanted something a bit shorter then my usual ones. I paired it with the wind chime earrings and my Primark imitation vans.

The last one up is my personal favourite which I acutally just threw together because I couldn't find the top I wanted to wear hehe turns out it was a really good thing.
This is my Primark white print vest and a Primark maroon pencil skirt. The skirt it a lot more red in real life this pic kinda darkened it up a bit.

I really like that this can be both dressy and casual. I was thinking if it was cool and I was going out I could team it with a cream waterfall jacket and throw on some heels. As for the shoes in this pic I really like them, they are from Sainsburys and Im usually really careful when I wear them as I dont want the fabric to get ruined by our temperamental weather. With this outfit I had my new sky blue NYC Nail varnish on which was a really nice contrast to the maroon of the skirt.

So that was me for the week. What do you think?

Tomorrow I will be sporting a much different outfit mainly comprised of pink sports wear. I might be quiet over the next week as we are away but hopefully I will have some cute outfits to show you afterwards and some fun holiday pics.

Race For Life .... 48hrs to go!

Hey,

So its 48hrs until my Race for Life 5k!! I'm a little bit nervous ... I'd like to be able to a) run at least 60% of it b) finish in an ok time.

First the bad news: I woke up this morning with a blocked nose and mega sore throat!! I think I have picked up a cold of someone damn it, knew I felt off the last few days ... bit tired not enough energy. I put it down to the training and thought I wasn't eating enough, turns out it might be this. So tomorrow I will be eating throat lozenges like they are going out of fashion, dosing up on vitamin C and giving my throat a good spray with the Covonia.

Other potentially bad news is that summer has decided to turn up just in time for us to run. Now when fiancé did his 10k Blaydon Race in the sun the other month he said it was mega hard as the heat just starts to get to you and you cant cool down. I'm hoping there will at least be a breeze as our gym has been really warm the last few sessions and it really is a lot harder when your overheating anyway.

Well moving on from that ... today was my last gym session before the big day!!

I decided to keep it easy today, 20 mins on the cross trainer, 5 minute up hill walk and a 5 minute jog for cardio then just some back, legs and stomach work on the machines. Kept it simple on the cardio to make sure I have enough energy for Sunday, and because I am going for an 8 mile bike ride tomorrow to keep fiancé company on his run eek ... glad I'm the one on the bike.

Post Gym Session - bit warm!

Other then the training I am all ready for the fun part of the race - I've got my bright pink adidas top, my running leggings have pink accents on them, you can see the pink on my trainers and my arm band then I even got a bright pink running jacket just in case it was raining so I am fully kitted out in pink!!

£14.99 Sports Direct Karrimor
Thin and breathable whilst still being water resistant.

Anyway this is just a short one ... I will post more after the race but it might take me a little while. See after the race I will be driving down south for our weeks holiday ... for that I hope the weather does stay warm hehe

Wish me luck! and if you want to donate I have a link on the side of my blog!

Outfit of the week ... 24th June

So these are my favourite outfits from last week. (hehe already taken some pics for this week)

First up is a cute little dress I wore into town on Saturday. Sometimes I get bored of wearing jeans all the time or wearing leggings so I decided to mix it up and wear my pretty blue Primark dress.

To tie in my red hair and lips I put on a little red skinny waist belt. Then to keep it casual put on my tan leather moccasins from New Look. I really want some more moccasins they are soo cute and look really nice with rolled cuff jeans.

Cute and summery.
To keep this outfit casual when I was out I paired it with a chunky oversized cream cardigan. I really want another cardigan like this, my sister got me this one the other christmas from GAP, going to keep my eye out for similar one this autumn (I'm a bit of a cardigan addict).

You will also note that I am switching it up taking pictures in the spare room/music room. The light is a lot better for during the day.

Next up a throw on outfit to pop down the road. This sounds odd but when I'm sitting around the house I just wear slouchy stuff which really isn't fit to see the light of day. The furthest this outfit is suitable for is to get the post or run to the car to grab something out.
Anyway so when we need to pop out I tend to throw on a t shirt or tank top with a pair of jeans and a hoody if its cold. This turned out to be quite cute so I promptly wore it for work the next day with a cardigan hehe Primark NERD t-shirt, skinny blue jeans turned up, little blue pumps and my Primark bag.

Next up is one I wore over to my sisters for tea. Keeping it casual with my grey skinny jeans, sugar skull T (think this one has paid for its self now), then just because they are awesome ...

My Nike High Tops!!!

You just cant argue with awesome trainers like these!!

As you can see I like to mix it up with my style, I dont really dress in any one style more what I think looks nice on me and suits what I'm doing that day. I can do anything from twinset and pearls to hoody and trainers. It really depends on how I'm feeling that day and what season it is ... wait till autumn then you will see a lot of scarves and tweed. I'm a bit of a country girl in the autumn ... would kill for a Barbour jacket!!

Anyhoo thats the highlights of my week. What have you all been wearing this week? got any really cute thrown together outfits??
