So every now and then, usually when I have some big task ie exams or right now applications, I decided that I need to get organised. Now I'm not saying that I'm unorganised, I keep a calendar in the kitchen and have all my stuff sorted and categorised on my laptop, but when it comes to certain events I feel the urge to get a more structured plan in place. I will admit this generally doesn't get followed very strictly but for the most part my previous attempts have been in relation to revision which I'm not overly fond of.
Having left Uni in the summer and found a job the need for a day to day Filofax disappeared. We got a calendar in the kitchen to write key dates on and Fiancés shifts but this isn't overly helpful when your out and you need to note a date down. Then recently I managed to double book us because Fiancé organised a training session and I didn't put it in my phone so I organised a hair appointment for the same time :s after this and after reading a friends blog about getting organised I decided it would be so much easier if we had a calendar that was shared across our devices.
After a quick google check I discovered that you can have more then one iCloud account loaded on a device, solution found and no need for a new app. Since its Fiancé's apple account thats logged into the iPad I decided to use his iCloud account, I added it to my phone and laptop then organised all the color tabs. Now when we need to put something in the calendar it appears on all our devices woo!
* Tip if your considering doing this make sure you only check the box to sync calendars for the additional devices unless you feel the need to receive all your partners emails and contacts.
After merging our electronic calendars and having another read of http://fizzypeaches.blogspot.co.uk/ blog about getting her self organised I have decided to resurrect my filofax. This is partly to keep my applications for pupillage straight and also because I think it will be useful as I get closer to the wedding. This is one area where I am beyond organised already, everything has a folder in my wedding file on the laptop, I have a hard copy file and loads of spread sheets for everything from guest list to budget. But as this is a major event to plan I feel that every organisational tool that I can put in place will help ensure that it keeps running smoothly.
In a final bid to become more organised I have decided to try an up my blogging. I have fallen away somewhat and would really like to post more, even if its just something little. So here goes. I will keep you updated on my progress.
xXx
Glad reading my post inspired you! I find I relax so much more when I'm organised, when things get jumbled I just panic!
