So last week me and the hubby took the week off to chill and get some bits done around the house. It can be really hard to get stuff done due to hubby working Saturdays so every now and then we take a few days or a week off together.
During the past week not only did we do some home decor but we also went across to Cumbria to visit friends and then had friends visit us, in between all of this I managed to mix in a bit of shopping. I got some really nice bargains!
These awesome piece were in the New Look SALE! The statement necklace was only £12 down from £30! I was a bit dubious about the sheer size of it but I've not had it off since, I love it, really adda a pop to an outfit. Also rather amusingly it jingles when I walk ... no sneaking up on anyone ha!
I had to get the earrings as I love turquoise, not only is it my birth stone but its also a really nice statement colour and pairs nicely with silver which I wear quite often with my skin tone. Both sets of earring were reduced to under £5 each.
I also picked up this awesome ribbed jumper from New Look sale. I love this burgundy colour for autumn and winter its really rice and pairs really nicely with a mix of other colours. This style of jumper is really comfortable and a great addition to my wardrobe as I had noticed that a lot of my jumpers were bracelet sleeves.
Paired this with my new green skirt the hubby got me for christmas and some black chelsea boots for a casual autumn/winter look.
We also popped into town during the week so the hubby could visit a music shop (it was like Aladdin's cave for drummers) and I had to pay a quick visit to Primark.
I mainly went to pick up this awesome geek chic Disney T-shirt which I had seen online and just had to buy. Luckily for me they had my size. I cant wait to style this piece, I am thinking of pairing it with a really loud statement necklace or one that is very blingy!
When I was looking for the Disney T I spotted this cool Harry Potter one. I already have two others but this one is a little different and really cute so I picked one up too.
I didn't just buy statement T-shirts, I also bought a couple of tops too. I have been thinking of trying a perplum top for a while but I hadnt' found one I liked so when I spotted this black and cream print top. I can't wait to try it out, I am thinking of pairing it with a black pencil skirt and my healed booties or black jeans and Chelsea boots. Might mix up with some coloured jeans or skirts once spring finally arrives.
Thought this little navy and cream stripe halter top would be really cute with a pair of high waisted navy shorts I have when we finally get round to summer or with some dark navy jeans and a waterfall front navy or cream jacket.
You can tell I am bored of winter when I'm planning my summer and spring outfits already.
As well as tops I picked up this pair of lounge pants, they are really comfy and I love the print. I tend to live in jogging bottoms in the house but they get bobbly and nasty quite quickly so I have been looking for some alternatives. I picked up a pair of similar trousers from New Look not so long ago, best part about both of them is that in the summer I will be able to wear them to pop to the shops unlike the joggers which I have to change out of.
The last item I picked up was this shirt, it a men's xs and was in the sale for £3. It seems like an odd buy but I only wanted it for the collar and neck area. See I am going to cut the shirt down to wear as a fake collar under my jumpers. I love a collar but sometimes wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath is cumbersome. I saw these collar bibs in River Island the other week and thought they looked like a good idea so when I saw this shirt for £3 I decided to give it a go making one myself.
During the week we also popped into our local Outfit shop and I got a new pair of Chelsea boots. I had looked at these a few weeks ago but they didn't have my size in and I didn't have the money. But then I noticed that mine were getting a hole in the sole so it was time to upgrade. I really like this pair they are a nice shape and height plus they are leather which is always a plus. Best part is that that at the time they were 30% off!
So that is my little haul from our week off! Expect to see these in a lot of upcoming outfit posts especially since I've not had the boots off my feet since I bought them hehe
