Recently I've been wearing/Outfit of the week

So with all the hectic'ness that  has been happening recently I have not kept on top of posting about my recent purchases or outfits for the week. Therefore this will be a round up of a few different weeks and a few new bits.

First up is a new chunky knit cardigan from Primark! hehe I love the primark knitwear I have load of there big cardys. All the ones I have are really good quality and as they are cheap I dont mind if they only last one winter, by the end I have generally worn them more then a pound a wear so they have paid for themselves. This one above its really nice its was only like £12 and is actually double knit, 2 layers of knit so its really warm. I love he loose cut and tapered edge to edge front seam. The loose fit is not too boxy so as to drown your figure and there isn't too much fabric so you can easily put a belt round if you want it closed.
I am loving the aztec print at the moment especially in really earthy colours, I have seen some really nice dresses and stuff with it on but they tend to be printed on top which I dont like. Anyway as you can see I have basically not had this off my back since I bought it hehe
First look is with my new Primark blue skinny jeans (£11) and a cowl neck New Look top I bought a few years ago. I also had on the necklace from below and my Primark aztec print snood. Decided to go for clashing prints with the cardy and scarf to see how it looks and personally I like it, they similar enough that they clash in a good way, not an omg what are you wearing way lol
Second look was for brunch and brothers birthday tea, I've worn this base outfit before and decided that the burgundy on the cardigan would go well with the pencil skirt.
The last look is a mix and match from my last outfit post, this time I paired the blue (New Look) cowl neck with my plain blue jeans and the cardigan.

First up on this next row is a top/dress I bought from Sainsburys of all places. I love the paisley print and the dark teal colour, also the length its just right for me to wear as a dress over leggings. Being tall I sometimes have issues with length on shorter dresses. For this look I paired the dress with grey tights and my brown New Look moccasins. I also threw on the cream cardigan from the next pic as it was a little chilly.
The middle look was one I wore to Roker beach, sounds daft but I live in the North its windy on the coast. This is an wardrobe dress I bought a couple years ago from Primark I love the cute and the chunky lace detail on the neck line. I also have it in royal blue with cream lace which is equally cute. I love this GAP cream cardigan it was a christmas present from my sister, its go a lovely chunky lapel thats great for snuggling up in when cold.
Last look was a work look, I have had the top for a few years, hehe another Primark special. Hey I was a student for like 5 years I went for cheap and cheerful clothing that could be thrown away when used up. I haven't really worn it that much, its quite a loose fit and has frillyish sleeves but I thought I would give it a go before resigning it to the charity bag. Turns out I just didn't have the right stuff to go with it.  For this look I nipped in the waist with a tan skinny belt, which tied in with my tan moccasins then put a light grey waterfall cardigan over the top. Thats another primark cardigan, I have it in black too as they are quite thin but still warm so great for autumn also the waterfall has a natural nip at the waist so they look good with a skinny waist.

Last trilogy promise and then I am up to date. First up is a casual look from when it was a little warmer. This is a mix and match look, grey long vest, maroon lace tube top, sleeveless denim shirt and some knee length black leggings.
Middle is something I threw together to go round to mums for Sunday lunch. I really love the fit of this Primark dress  and the cute little flower pattern. For this lunch I paired it with my new cream pumps just to break them in, they are supposed to be my comfy post heel shoes no use if they hurt.
The last look was for my 4 year anniversary with the fiancé eek very excited its our last one before the wedding. We decided to keep it low key so we could save up for the big day and went down to a local gastro pub for a bite to eat and kept prezzies to £4. This is my new grey Republic dress I got in the sale for £5 down south but as we were going out I paired it with some plain black Topshop court shoes and my new aztec New Look necklace. Also threw on a giant pink print pashmina round my shoulders in lieu of a coat.

hehe selfie time, first one is simply make up and natural hair for the brothers birthday, second is simple make up but with my hair blow dried with a roll brush to shape the fringe. Also been trying something new with the headband, this one is a strip of cream chiffon with little pearls just tied round. I like that its simple but still breaks up my hair without being distracting.

Here is the afore mentioned New Look necklace, I bought this the other week in the sale for £3!! Bargain!! I love it, its a real statement piece and as you see above with the grey dress can really add something to a simple outfit. The only downside is that as with other large necklaces if you get warm it can start to stick to your décolletage area which cab be irritating. But hey thats the price we girls pay for fashion, and the reason I dont wear chunky jewellery in summer.

Last but not least here we are ready to go out for our anniversary meal, fiancé is wearing Ralph Lauren shirt from T K Maxx and Next blue jeans, then Next tan boat shoes. Doesn't he look adorable! he really likes this casual preppy look at the minute and so do I but the I'm a little biased.

Sorry it was a long one but that is me all caught up on what I have been wearing and anything new I have bought recently. Due to our current budget I will be sticking to the sales and Primark until after the wedding hehe

Bits and bobs, this and that ...

So I mentioned in one of my last posts that I had picked up some bits in Primark in the Trafford centre.

There you go, pic on the left a very tidy looking primark and on the right me with my giant bag hehe well anyway I have finally got round to taking some pics  of them, and I took some pics of other new items from the past few weeks.

First up, here is my cute new Primark handbag. I love the navy and cream, it goes with loads of different outfits and I should know as I've been using it since I bought it. The size if really good as well, I can fit all my stuff in, medium filofax, cath kidston purse, spare make up and the random bits a girl usually has. There is also a shoulder stap which I have taken off for the minute as I mainly take my bag to work so don't need it over my shoulder.
Next up my little grey crop top. Just a flat pic of this one, not on me. For £3.50 this top is really nice, not too thin so you can see through it and not too cheap and starchy. Not had a chance to wear this out yet as the weather has been fairly minging up here and its not really appropriate to have your midrift out at work.

Last item of 'clothing' is a pair of cute boat shoes my mum got me. We went up to Boundary Mill to look for wedding outfits, see my wedding post, and had a little look round the shoes. As I was low on funds my mum was really nice and got me theses cute shoes. I saw two pairs that I really liked but these ones are leather Hush Puppies and I decided they were more value for money.

I love the colour and have been looking for a pair of boat shoes since fiancé got his grey ones about 2 years ago now. Its really hard to find them at times, even when they have been in season there are so many colour and slight shape variations that I just haven't sound any that really looked me. These ones are really comfy and the dark tan matches with lots of different outfits. Plus leather is always good for when the weather decides to throw a wobbly and rain.

The last 'bit' I have picked up is a new make up bag. I have been using the same one for about 8 years now, it came free with a magazine when I was in senior school and I love it. Its the same general shape as the new one, rectangle with a zip that lets the top flap off. I like this style as you can open it right up and get to everything instead of stuff falling to the bottom. I picked this one up in poundland of all places :s I like that its really bright and of course the owls are pretty cute.

Anyway thats all from me with new buys I will just leave you will a hilarious pic I took in the coffee shop the other day.

My wardrobe may go on strike soon ...

So saying the past few weeks have been hectic would be an understatement. You see I have been completing my pupillage applications :s this in itself is difficult but then add in the fact that the system we use to apply (similar to UCAS for uni) started to crash the weekend before they were due, and you end up with an extremely stressed Emma. The positive side was that due to the fact the system has been acting up so badly, the Bar Council decided to extend the deadline twice. This is a godsend as it was taking ages to load each page let alone to save or submit.

Anyway to avoid cabin fever and to prevent me going stir crazy I have actually been holed up in the flat constantly from the end of work I have been allowing myself a few hours a week to relax and decompress. This is also very useful as these applications are beyond important and after a while you are simply staring at the screen writing nonsense.

So in my time off I have in fact managed to pick up a few cute little pieces, I have been meaning to post them for the last 2 or 3 weeks but hey better late then never.

First up is a really cute little blue dress I picked up when I was out with my sister in Newcastle. Now looking at it I bet you can't guess where its from?

Primark! at the time I was trying to avoid spending but I had been looking for a little day dress and at £13 this was an amazing bargain. I like this because I can dress it up or down depending on how I feel. At the weekend I wore it out with friends in manchester with chunky tan wedges, tan belt, cream waterfall jacket and a tan bag. But I could just as easily dress it up with a pashmina/jacket and pair of cream court shoes.

Next up is a combo piece. The skirt is from H&M in leicester the other month and the crop top new look. I love the skirt but unfortunately I think it shrunk when I washed it :( so might need to have a look at the hem. You see Im 5'9 so if things hit my ankle wrong I just look daft, as if i bought the wrong size. The top was another bargain at 4.99, Ive tried it with a couple different looks and its really versatile.

Next is a denim vest and leggings. I saw some one out in town in something similar so kept my eye out. I got the leggings for a fiver and the top was 15 from George at asda. Its from the G21 range and is actually a size 12 shirt. I bought this because i really liked the detail and the back is long enough to cover my bum. (I don't like leggings as trousers, only place I wear them is the gym) also being a 12 its not too fitted on me which is the look i was going for. As you can see from the pic the shirt is distinctly missing some sleeves which is because I wanted a vest but even the nice ones weren't long enough so when I got this home i chopped off the sleeves.

Final new purchase is a george G21 maxi dress. I saw this when I was looking at the shirt but waited until after pay day to buy it hehe I really like that its not just plain grey and the top section is lined so its quite warm. Iv got another maxi this style, strapless with a floaty top and elasticated waist. They are really flatering and give a bit more shape then a normal sheath maxi. I paired this with a little cardy and pumps but once the weather warms up I think it will look really cute with sandals and a summer snood.

Next up is just a little mix and match from the other day. I paired the black crop top with some grey skinnies, the denim vest and some little black pumps.

What do you think?

Pictorial Round Up.

This is a bit of a sweep up of things that I have missed and dont really fit in specific posts.

First up a new compilation shot of me and the fiancé using some pics from the photobooths at some of the wedding fairs. This is now currently sitting in our front room along with a trilogy shot of us. Fiancé says if I want to put up any more pics of us I need to start taking some down :( he says it will start to get a bit creepy hehe

Next up is our relatively new clock. This is currently hanging above our tv in the front room its awesome, about a foot and a half in diameter looks really retro next to our black and white New York canvas.

Speaking of pictures, canvases and walls I have been looking about on pinterest and decided I might like to turn the wall above our dinning table into a picture wall. But I'm not too sure about whether it will be too busy on the wall and make the room look small :s might have a mess about with fotoflexer to see what it might look like.

Next up some shots from my trip to work the other morning. Driving along at 10 to 7 being blinded by the light of a glorious sunrise. Really positive way to start the day getting bathed in sunlight.
Sun rising over the northeast
Glorious sight at 6:50!!

Told you it was bright and blinding, bit different to my winter drive to work where it was pitch black, then I felt like i was driving to work in the middle of the night. This particular morning I felt like sticking my sunnies on but seemed a bit silly considering the time of day hehe
Rocking the double skull scarves. Hair and neck!
When I got to the work car park I managed to get some great snaps. Love the juxtaposition between the frosted car roof and the blinding light cresting over the horizon.

The next was a pure fluke. When I looked down I spotted the fact that the sun had turned my car window into a perfect mirror. Had to grab the shot, its one of those pic's were you wish you had a better camera.

Love this shot! and loving my hair in this shot with the scarf.
Anyway that was my quick pictorial round up of the past few weeks.

Round up and new shiny things!!

Sorry its been a bit of a while since my last post (excluding the new hair one) but I've been a little busy then we had the fiancé's parents up for 4 days so that was a very busy few days. As you can probably tell from my last few posts I like using pictures to highlight my posts, the following will be very picture heavy hehe

We will start with Valentines Day. Now I love it, excellent excuse to act like a complete goof with the one you love. Now dont get me wrong I dont need an excuse to act like a goof or to spoil the fiancé by buying him gifts I do this quite often but Vday is special as there a nice cards and goofy gifts to choose from. I also like being able to go out for a nice meal without feeling a little guilty for splurging or it being an anniversary also its nice to celebrate love in general. This year we went out for dinner on the Tuesday then to save some money went for £5 gift limit plus a card. (love card factory!! nice cards that dont cost a bomb)

Clockwise: Cards, gift for fiancé and my gift from fiancé.

Round up ...

This week was a bit of a mixed bag.

Started with a bit of an issue with the tax on my wages, which should be sorted for next pay day, wouldn't be an issue but pay day is changing this month and as such I am paying two lots of rent out of one lot of wages :s not what I wanted when we are trying to save up for the wedding! this put me in a bit of downer on friday which wasn't helped by the fact Fiancé was working late and then had to work all weekend.

The week has however gotten much better since the weekend. Tuesday we popped into town and dropped off cards for my two engaged friends, one an engagement card and the other a new home card. Whilst dropping them off we managed to arrange a dinner date for next thursday and both girls offered to come dress shopping at some point, it was loads of fun exchanging wedding chit chat.

Then on Wednesday I arranged another dinner date for this Friday with some other friends, had a good session at the gym while the fiancé got beasted by the personal trainer and then the best part of the week so far ... we ordered our wedding rings!!!

A lady came round from Smooch Rings and brought loads of samples which we sat and looked through. After we had both filled a tray each with our favourites came the hard part choosing the one!! Fiancé managed really well, me on the other had ... lets say it took a while. There was lots of trying on with all three of us assessing which one went best with my engagement ring. Finally I had it narrowed down to my top 5 then 4, two has twists with diamonds set on the arms and two had scalloped edges with diamonds. To choose between these I had to put one either side of my engagement ring to compare, I managed to narrow it down to two. The problem was the last two were equally gorgeous and as someone with a bit of a jewellery habit. It took ages but in the end I have chosen an amazing ring!! They arrive in July! its going to be so hard not to wear it straight away hehehe

Any hoo here is a few pics to finish my round up!

Results of Fridays blizzard, the card park had been cleared by a JCB on Thursday!

Luckily it was all sunny on Saturday morning so the snow didn't freeze over too much.

Just a random pic out of our living room window.

You cant really tell but this was glowing when I walked in the room.
The snow did melt but then Monday saw some freezing overnight which turned the mound of snow on our path into an ice block, I ended up hugging the building walking in the foot of clear path to get to a patch of ice thin enough to step over. Then contended with the black ice, at 6am this mainly consists of avoiding the shiny patches and hugging the car while spraying de-icer outside and IN!!!
