This autumn/winter I have been suffering from a major case of plaid love. I have always been a big lover of plaid but somehow I found my wardrobe sadly lacking.
It would appear that I have rectified this situation ... so far this autumn/winter I have acquired a new shirt, 2 new scarves, a blanket wrap and a pair of trousers all in plaid ... oops.

Large mixed colour scarf from New Look |
This scarf is so soft and comfy its lovely and warm just perfect for winter. I love the classic colours in the plaid makes it easy to pair this with lots of different outfits without it looking out of place.

Red and white plaid shirt from Sainsburys |
I love a good plaid shirt there are so many options on how to style it: open over a white vest, add a statement necklace and gilet, rolled sleeves and denim shorts for summer, under a cream chunky jumper for a pop of colour or even tied round your waist.
Above I kept it really simple with black skinnies and an open collar to show some silver statement necklaces but I'm thinking of mixing things up teaming it with a plain pencil skirt or maybe even getting one of those floppy bow ties. I like experimenting with clashing smart and casual see how it looks.

Navy blue trousers also Sainsburys (sale) |
I am loving this plaid skinnies, picked them up on sale whilst waiting to pick up the hubby from work and I am so glad I did. So far I have kept it really simple my plain cream cable knit jumper on top but I am considering a bit of pattern clashing.

mustard blanket scarf Zara |
At the minute its a bit cold so I have been mainly wearing this as a giant scarf but when the weather starts to turn I'm going to start experimenting with wearing it as more of a wrap or shawl.
I really like this wrap as you can wear it loose and open or belt it in at the waist with a skinny belt to give it some more shape. Its lovely and warm and the wrap nature really makes you feel like your all bundled up in a blanket, just what you need in winter.
I also tried mixing it up pairing the wrap and scarf in the same outfit, I love the clash of the plaids and the belt ties the two together whilst adding shape so I don't just look I grabbed a couple of picnic rugs to throw on!
I will keep you updated if I purchase any more plaid items, which is a definite possibility as there looks to be quite a few nice shirts about at the minute.
xXx
